I might as well pimp for this band, as their 4 downloads I just heard are good (well, 3, at least):
The Peppermints
Their newest label, Paw Tracks (I was actually just going to this site to hear some Animal Collective [part-owners of the label] mp3s, but I guess there aren't free downloads of them on there), compares them to GG Allin, The Fall, Joan Jett, Wire and the Soft Boys (and that's just the ones I'm familiar with), a pretty wide net flung there. Well, I dunno about The Fall... or Joan Jett, but this is pretty good paint-stripping scree-music.
This is "Jess Chryst," the first one I heard. Punky! It reminds me of some Crass I've been listening to lately.

"Rodeo" appears to be about rodeos, and whiskey... and I detect something about "butt" in the lyrics. Similar in feel to early Bratmobile, if more trad-punk in sound.

"Nancy" is ...kinda an instrumental... with vocals. Reminds me of the Slits, 'n Kleenex a bit.

What else could this be about but that fine Senator from Pennsylvania? This is a bit of a clunker to me, the one "mellow" song here not holding up with the others, but... I know some of you will want to hear it for your admiration of the Senator.

12/28/05 edit- I got my Arlington Arts Center pics developed finally, but keep seeming to get a slow connection tonight (bleh), so will load up pics tomorrow. I'm glad to keep ^ these music links up for now, and remind folks to check out the art website RockZombie designed.
