I drove way out of my way to a tattoo shop here in Austin, spur of the moment to get a tattoo I have been wanting to get for a month or so. The Darwin fish.
After I said what I wanted, this fishy on my foot but drawn on freehand so it doesn't look so perfect, the artist at the counter says ... "It's a bumper sticker."
Then he talked a bit about if I like it, I should put it on my car. They really want to make sure that their customers have more custom pieces that they are going to love. Just think about it. When you come in here you get my 16 years of experience. It's a bumper sticker. He was nicely rude about it.
... But I love the Darwin fish. So I walked out depressed and slightly embarrassed.
I understand his point because I considered that angle as well, it was just the way he said it. I felt like a little girl being scolded at school.
In a few weeks I'm going to try another shop.

So I probably will, but it's going to be awhile I'm sure. I have a few musical things I need to get, and find a worthwhile artist to do this with me.
But It's gonna be pretty sweet!
