Only so much time in the day, not enough time for SG. I need more of the culture here though. I'm a lurker. I am a featured writer on a parenting blog community as well as keeping up with my other blog Tales of the Tornado Chaser and that doesn't leave much to say here. blackeyed

But I am here. The men of my house are all asleep and I am enjoying my quiet time. I had a rough day and I think I deserve some free time, even though I will be sucking tomorrow with lack of sleep. It's worth it.

One topic that has been bothering me lately. I don't seem to fit into a good parenting niche, as far as family size goes. I know a lot of moms that have 1 child like my best friend here with a 2 year old... and I know some moms with 4+ children, including a good blogger friend that has 8 (3 by marriage). I am outnumbered but not quite in the "large family" category.

I am the youngest in my play date circle of friends by 7 years, I have more kids as everyone else has one, 2 years and younger and I have the oldest 2 kids. I am constantly feeling out of place, which doesn't help that I posted a couple pictures of my tornadoes in a parenting group... everyone else has one child.

Gah!

That is my small vent for tonight. biggrin

How is everyone doing?
megarose:
it does seem like a lot of people i know only have one child. i can't help but think how lonely that child may be. before our daughter came along my son had no one to play with. he's got so much energy he really needed a playmate. now they have a blast together even with a 3.5 year difference. maybe you should think of it as being ahead of the game. there's nothing wrong with having kids young. i'm looking forward to being in my forties and free of motherhood obligations. i'll go post my pic of my two kids so you don't feel like the oddball. wink

btw- your boys are so handsome and i love the hawks.
