Pretty nifty, to say the least.

My Philly friends back in the '90s had several TNBC figures from flea markets. Philly has pretty extensive flea markets to find such things.

I guess I should clarify. The US loss didn't really affect my interest in the World Cup. I was severely disappointed in the poor showing. It's just that with everything going on, trying to squeeze a match or two in today or watching a US match last night that I knew the result of didn't interest me. Trying to watch two taped matches a night...

Oops- okay. I myself have probs seeing many games due to 1) no cable or TV antenna, 2) earlier starts in Pacific time zone, 3) shouldn't I be job-hunting? Oh yeah, 4) or doing a bunch of other productive things, 5) volunteer work on Thursdays when games are on.

On the plus side- even if I had cable, I would want to watch the games publicly. Red Wing Cafe is a great place to do so (good food, snacks, tea; no cig smoke; fairly large crowds) and I would never have heard shouts of "Disgraziata!" and "Bastardo!" during a game in my lonely lil apt room. It's def a group event.

Things really need to improve. mad

On another note. The more I get used to the new layout, the more I get used to the new layout. I'm still not sure if I like it.

Not a fan of Toys 'R Us, eh? wink
marginwalker2002:
Are you referring to the quality of the US's World Cup Play or something more sinister??

And I'm in agreeance about the layout. It's different, yes, better?? Well... Me and 11 other angry men are still deliberating.

Well, Pope got two yellows. The second penalty wasn't awful, but he had a yellow already, so that's now it goes.
I don't recall disputing Mastroeni's, but now I cna't really remember the play. He had the best goal-shot of the Americans.

So true, my dear Chaz.... Soooooo true!!! Have you seen Dogma? I think Kevin Smith hit the nail on the head. Organized religion these days, in my opinion is SO FAR OFF from what was intended... It's truly sad.

Let's just be heathens!!! tongue

The US played a great game, which isn't to say they're not very lucky to get a tie; with no USA foot putting a ball into a goal all game, two red cards, and Italy being offsides every two seconds, the game could've gone very differently with a few different bounces.
However, time of posession and shots-on-goal looked better for them than Italy. That's a victory right there.
radiofrank:
Aye; that was one hell of a game. I haven't the faintest idea who is going to make it out of that group, and I get the sense that the second position may end up being decided on goal differential.

Was the US game on TV yet or is it going to be? I can't find it! And I know they are playing today.
niobe:
Nevermind, I see they are playing at 1:30! So excited!!! Even though they are going to lose. Very badly. tongue

yeah, Sophie is ridiculously hot!

Well, I can definately accept that you're a soccer fan (I already knew it wink), I'm just against the people I mentioned. Yesterday I didn't even have to turn on the TV to see that Germany has won. Until 2am there were hooting cars, fireworks and singing people in the streets whatever

You just had to go and post a picture from the one team that I can not stand in the least, eh? puke
belllla:
I don't know who that is, but I like his legs. wink

So, I finally watched a little bit of Supergroup and it kindof made me sad. I've had a ridiculous crush on Sebastian Bach since I was about 14, and seeing what a ridiculous maniac he is kindof has me a little disenfranchised.

He was a lot nicer and seemed more down to earth when I met him. wink

That was quite a game, wasn't it? Damn.

I know that this whole new layout will take some getting used to (and I'm sure that there are a few bugs that still need to be worked out), but you and I have been here long enough to know that SG has changed quite a bit since we've started here.
