I guess I should clarify. The US loss didn't really affect my interest in the World Cup. I was severely disappointed in the poor showing. It's just that with everything going on, trying to squeeze a match or two in today or watching a US match last night that I knew the result of didn't interest me. Trying to watch two taped matches a night during the week or three live ones on the weekend is a bit taxing. Now I just need to decide who to pull for.

On the plus side- even if I had cable, I would want to watch the games publicly. Red Wing Cafe is a great place to do so (good food, snacks, tea; no cig smoke; fairly large crowds) and I would never have heard shouts of "Disgraziata!" and "Bastardo!" during a game in my lonely lil apt room. It's def a group event.
