The US played a great game, which isn't to say they're not very lucky to get a tie; with no USA foot putting a ball into a goal all game, two red cards, and Italy being offsides every two seconds, the game could've gone very differently with a few different bounces. However, time of posession and shots-on-goal looked better for them than Italy. That's a victory right there.
