some advice about depression. it is an illness that is curable. have had it most of my life but did not find about until this year when i became suicidal, i had put my self into hospital as the system in australia is different.
first of all go to the local hospital or your own Gp and tell them there are support groups all over the place including help lines. chuches are a great place to go as they can provide both the assistance and emotional help you need family memebers are also good as they will listen friends you trust, be awra of this there are two types of depression one that will last you a short while and the long term one. and remember this know hospital can legally turn you away.
the only person who can help you in the end is you? and don't give into the black dog.

Depression is a scary thing...I've battled it since I was 15 or so...I've been misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder and ADD and other stuff...finally found a (mix of) doctors who asked all the right questions and waited until they were sure to try meds...I finally got diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, which is why a lot of meds didn't have astounding effects on me...

But here I am, living proof that you can be happy. It's not a crime to be happy...it's just so much cooler nowadays to be angsty, and it's total bullshit.

Your friends sounds like he needs to be put in check...you deserve more respect than that!
