I went to the World's Longest Breakfast Table shindig downtown, and had a free bowl of cereal and milk. There were lots of people, but only a few did I recognize, and they were fellow rennies. Took some pics for my grandkids, and visited some booths.
It was the 50th anniversary of the celebration, which was originally started to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Kellogg, which is now 100 years old. (Hey! I can do math!) Actually, Kellogg has orphaned Battle Creek. The only thing left of Kellogg here in town is the world headquarters. As far as I know, they closed up their last manufacturing facility a couple of years ago. Like many comapnies, they've abandoned their origins to find cheaper labor elsewhere. This abandonment has squelched my enthusiasm for Kellogg. They abandon us, I abandon them.
