Before we get too weepy over old Pooper, I ought to mention that I still have a yellow lab and four cats. Scrappy, the dog, was bequeathed on me by my son, and Scrappy was never as well trained as P.P.P.P. He's an outdoor dog, but we still have fun together. It's funny to watch him walk because he waddles like a duck.
You can tell Christmas is coming because business is picking up at the store. Right now people are still calm, but it won't be long and customers with no understanding of what goes on in a book store will start coming in, and then everyone's tempers will get short. It's hard not to call some of these mentally challenged people morons.
One does wonder how some of these people were brought up. They leave books and trash all over the store, and literally demolish the news stand. They are definitely lazy beyond words, and have the manners of hogs. They are, in a word, typical American shoppers. I hate to say it, but women are the worst, though men aren't much better. It's a neck and neck race to the bottom!
Parents will bring their kids in and let them roam free, tearing up displays and merchandise. It makes a guy wonder. I didn't let my kids act like these monsters.
When I shop, I only take what I am going to buy from the shelf or rack. I don't take stacks of merchandise and leave it scattered around a store, which some customers do. I can't understand these people, and I find it difficult to like them. However, they are the customer, and hence my paycheck, but there are moments when I'm ready to go postal!
