Today something happened to me that hasn't happened in a long time.

I was at work at the beginning of my shift (6am) getting a cup of coffee and this lady that I don't know but just have small talk with whenever I walk past comes up to me and, after our morning "hellos" turns to me and says...

You look really good today.

I can count the number of spontaneous compliments I've recieved in my life on one hand. I have never recieved a spontaneous compliment from someone I don't know.

I was so shocked that I couldn't even speak. I probably looked like she had slapped me across the face.

I said to her "It's been a long time since anyone has said that to me. Thank you very much." We then spoke for a little while longer than usual and went about on our daily rountines.

Her compliment has made my week. I couldn't stop smiling for hours after.
