Quick ride out to Bragg Creek and back yesterday...Turned out to be the hammer on my cold: yes, happy little virii have set themselves up in my pharynx, esophagus, and sinonasal passages and are frantically reproducing.
Fucking virii are having sex, and I'm too sick to even be a voyeur.
Can you tell I hit the cold medication hard? thought so.
Todays recipe:
Oven Roasted Potatoes:
Get a few medium sized red spuds. Wash em. Don't peel em.
Cut em into eighths, lengthwise.
Put em in a pot, water to cover, and boil em till they are about 1/3 cooked.
Drain em, and put them in a bowl with as many whole cloves of peeled garlic as you have spud wedges.
Add 3 tbs of butter, or olive oil, and a few grinds of black pepper. If you used olive oil, then add a little salt.
stick em on a cookie sheet.
roast em in the oven at 400 for about 45 minutes, stirring them gently twice so all the sides get to brown.
Eat em. the garlic will be dark brown, squishy soft, and taste mild and delish.
This is really good with a bbq burger patty and a salad. sounds simple, but the long slow cooking really works some magic.

but.. i cant eat anything that has been covered in either butter or oil. but you can bet your bottom dollar i would ahve once upon a time.
