My sister had to bury another puppy today. Her favorite, if you can say such a thing; Asia, with the white face. She's so proud of those puppies, prouder than she's ever been of anything, except maybe her little brother.
I didn't know what to do when I saw her cradling Asia as she sat on her front step. So I just sat down next to her and cried, too.
It's the worst she's ever been. She was up with the puppies all night, but it didn't really matter, except that three are doing much better, and the momma dog, China, came to greet me when I went in. I don't know what to say with her. Nothing, which is a lot less than my mother and grandmother have been saying. They think she's crazy, on drugs, needs to be committed, based on what they've been told by her abusive, drug-addled asshole of an ex-boyfriend. Sure would like to know why they choose to believe him now. "I guess we were wrong about Wayne." Fuck.
I don't know where puppies go when they die, but they couldn't be with anyone better than my sister while they're here.

ANYway. We really ought to get together and watch clerks cartoons together sometime. It would be superfun, and we could have a quoting contest. whoever knows more of the script, gets whatever they want most.

You don't realize how much you love animals until you read someone's journal and cry about puppy dogs, that you've never seen, dying.
I can't imagine having one of my pets die-- fortunately-- I think it's fortunate anyway (I didn't think it was a good thing at the time, of course)-- all my childhood pets ran away before they got old or sick...
