Shrimp tacos were served at my friend's birthday party Friday night. Very tasty. Everything went pleasantly. No going out; a bit of a shame, since my hair looked so good, but sitting around a dimly lit room and relaxing was nicer than just about anything. And I'm too sick to go out and drink heavily.

The plan was to have Jim James, lead singer of Louisville band My Morning Jacket and all-around nice guy, to come sing for my friend, since she's the band's biggest fan, but as much as he wanted to, they're going in to record their new album soon and he couldn't spare the time. She was touched that we even attempted it and he was touched that we asked. A whole lot of touching going on.

It's so fucking cold here. I can't believe it. I'm freezing my narrow ass off and I am merely sitting in my room. I don't want to start school tomorrow. I just want to curl up and read comics. Or curl up with Amelie and read comics. That would be optimal. Sigh. So cold...
