BR5-49 opened for Southern Culture on the Skids last night and they are fucking AMAZING. Genuine country & western music, with a whole lot of humor thrown in. Serious musicians having a good time. They did Hank Williams's "Long Gone Lonesome Blues" and I about melted.
And Southern Culture on the Skids kicked my ass, as usual. I love those guys and that gal. Mary sings real purty, and I think she did a lot more singing last night than the two other times I've seen them. Oh, and they closed the show with BR5-49 and did "Great Atomic Power." I love that song. I love these bands. I love music.

I thought today and realized that last night I needed to not think about it for a while in order to stay sane. So my roommate gave me lots of rum. That was very nice of her, wasn't it?
