Last night was awesome, epic, amazing. There aren't even words, I'm still reeling. I went watching Halestorm live in Manchester.
The show itself was incredible, Lzzy has an amazing stage presence, such an intense, strong voice... RJ is like Animal from the Muppets too, he's fucking crazy, so much energy - at one point he did a drum solo, hammered on them for two minutes straight, threw away his sticks and did a solo with just his hands, then grabbed a pair or drumsticks which were about 5x as big as usual (they were like, the size of his arms!) stood up and did a solo with those. They fucking owned it.
The support bands were awesome too, if you haven't heard of Zico's Chain or Heaven's Basement I really recommend looking them up.
The thing that made it an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime night though... We went early and went into the bar while we waited.... And the band were just sitting there, eating pasta. Nobody around was paying any notice, it was so surreal.
So of course we had to go over and say hi...
They were so amazingly nice and easy to talk to, they just chatted to us for about ten minutes, got up to give us hugs and take photographs and sign things... I mean, seriously, I got a hug off Lzzy Hale!! Life just doesn't get better than this...
(It's just a shame I look like a dork in the photo.)
And the icing on the cake... I was with my friends who make up the band A Mouth Full of Matches, the ones I shot this video with >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNxyVKz8mPY And when they mentioned they played guitar in a band, Lzzy lit up... Joe and Josh gave them their picks, and then agreed to sign them.... Lzzy watched the music video, and she loved it, especially the bass and guitar solos... She took the link to their fb page... And during the show, she dedicated the song Rock Show to their band, calling them "the future of rock and rolll"... How fucking amazing is that?? Aaaah.

Ahh, I'm sorry for fangirling so hard in this blog. It was an amazing night.
And of course, I spent my rent money on a t-shirt....
