I bought Pitchfork and Lost Needles and I gotta say it's good stuff. I particularly like Juggernaut (one of our favourite words ) - I must put it on my gym workout list! And man do I need to get to the gym! Christmas is coming and it's not just the goose that's getting fat. I've had a constant cold for about 8 weeks now and haven't been able to get to the gym. So I really should lose a stone and a half (I think that must be about 25 lb...) . That's a lot of cookies........

You can get really inexpensive web space if you're up for a small technical learning curve. I like Lunarpages.com, but there are maaaany others, and some of them have built-in page creation tools.

Neckface is kind of a running joke in my journals. He's a graffiti artist out of San Francisco, but he gets up all over-- I know he's big in NYC.

He used to tag the doorway to my building, and I made a journal entry bitching about him-- since then, he kind of blew up, so I've been making occasional references to him in my journals.

Yeah-- that's the fight! I was so stoked to see a kickboxer actually hang in a UFC, heh, heh. I saw the first UFC, and it was really demoralizing to realize that all that training we did would amount to . . . uh . . . nothing, if we had huge gaps in our ability at different fighting ranges.

I still can't wrestle my way out of a wet paper bag. Heh, heh. I trained grappling briefly with a guy named Jake Shields at the Fairtex gym-- at the time he was the Japaneese middleweight Shooto champion -- and I learned two things:

1) Wrestling is fucking stupid hard.

2) When Jake Shields chokes you, you'll have a throat-ache for a week.

Re: your recent setbacks-- I bet you know the drill -- keep your head up! Integrity, perserverance and honor; don't be afraid to ask for and recieve divine assistance, whatever that means to you. Don't forget that life is long, and we never really know what the end result of our current circumstance may be. Negatives can grow positives, and your life is already proof of that fact.

Well, if you were rooting for Luke 'cause he reminded you of me, I can dig that. I was rooting for him at first because of the ninja mask, but Joe's new little baby and general sunny disposition in the ring swayed me.

The guy that I liked the most fight-wise was the dude that Rashan beat in the semi-final. He was the only guy I saw that I thought was a good kicker (not that kicking is that critical in MMA, but . . . it's what I like the most).

Despite my love for good kicking, I was actually glad to see the Muay-Thai fighter get his ass handed to him; he was a fucking dick. I like fighters who conduct themselves with gravity, compassion or class.
