... because I needed to vent to somebody.
So I ordered a Boysenberry plant recently, and was terribly disappointed by what I received.
I ordered a 12"-18" tall plant in a 1 gallon pot, and absolutely did NOT receive that, instead getting a smaller plant in a half gallon pot. Furthermore, the plant was bound in such a way that it was impossible for it not to get broken, with an almost 100% probability that it visibly broke before it was even packaged... and then got packaged anyway. Lastly, on top of all of this, it came covered in Blackberry Leaf Spot. While this isn't the worst disease a blackberry can have by any means (most of our wild Himalayans have it, it barely affects berry production, and it IS cureable with considerable patience and effort), it would've been nice to get a plant that was clean.
Now I have a broken, sick little plant tied up in a splint awaiting leaf pruning and a much needed anti-fungal bath that I'm probably never going to plant in my garden. Once it gets nursed back to health, I'm probably just going to give it away.
I guess it serves me right for buying something on sale from fucking Florida.
