So, questions to any of my blog readers. If you had enough money to be financially independant, and never need to work ever again, what would you do for yourself, and why? What would your daily life be like?

So few of us ever get that opportunity, so it is nice to daydream sometimes.

I'd probably be doing the same sort of work I do for pay - programming stuff on Unix systems, but it'd be mainly on personal Free Software projects that hold my interest. And maybe donating web development services to organizations that could use it.

And I'd probably spend more time trying to take a personal hand in my kids' education, supplementing what they get at school.

I would definitely stay busy, but I would likely spend all my time improving my mind and body. I would spend each day learning new things, advanced mathmatics and physics, medical sciences, chemistry, and the like, as well as spend part of each day practicing martial arts or exercising.

I would play my guitar more, and learn other instruments. I would draw more, learn to sculpt.

I would go to the shooting range a lot, and learn to be an excellent trick-shot. I would also learn knife fighting and knife throwing, just for the hell of it.

I would learn forest survival skills, how to find food and water in the middle of nowhere, and learn all about every creature I could, as practically all forms of life fascinate me.

I'd get better at my german, and even take the time to learn norwegian, finnish, russian, arabic, and romanian if I could.

And somewhere amidst all that frantic learning and self improvement, I would probably try to make time to date, but who's to say really.
