she walked closer to the water
the coarse sand like kitty litter between her toes
the sun had already rose and set
and the air
it sat on her weighing her down
her stomach sat heavily
she fell to her knees
her forehead slowly bringing itself to the ground
she sat and cried
her tears falling into the sand
adding more salt to the sea
her hands felt so empty
she no longer had him by her side to hold them
even in the heat she felt so cold
because his body was no longer against her
any sound she made, anytime she cried out
it was so easily forgotten by the wind
that lightly blew through her hair
and down the nape of her neck
he wasn't there to absorb and remember her words
there. i posted a weird poem i wrote tonight to satisfy one Alaynah
you better mail me some cornbread or something.

my additions to my blog
Her tired eyes peered out of the window, sun smothered with clouds seemed to dim as the plane shook again. The plane lowered and pushed it's way through the marshmallow fluff of clouds. When visibility returned, everything was a dark gray and she felt much too low to the ground.
She panicked, her mind pushing images though it, as if on fast-forward. She was returning home.

Sweetened smiles
spread on my face
eyes bright and happy
smallest memories
making my heart flutter
his lips against mine
against me
his finger
i sit and remember
his touch
shivers
down my spine
the colors
i can sit and
watch his eyes
you can guess who that is about.
