Tomorrow I'm off for a cousines wedding. 7 hours in a car with my parents to get there, 7 hours in a car with my parents to get back.
In between meeting the entire part of my relatives that I have no interesst in seeing (except for said cousine who is the reason I'm going).

Thank God (no seriously I sit and thank him in my prayers every chance I get) for alcoholic beverages and the fact that this is happening out on the farm my father grew up. Makes it easy to get lost somewhere in the "wild" with a couple of bottles of wine.

for culture shock I'll come back Sunday and head straight for my traditional evening out with my intellectual friends where we'll discuss the concept of myths by Barthes and get completely pissed.
THis is one of my favourite ways to spend my nights...

Last weekend I met up with a couple of people I hung out with in high school, whom I hadn't seen in years. It was seriously depressing. Back in the days I was a pretty big idiot with serious self esteem issues. I have been working on changing that, they haven't they are still the same old, no drive to do anything at all. To think that I quite looked up to some of them at the time makes me cringe.

---

Morgans latest journal entry kicked up some shit in my head again.
I have always had difficulties (until recently very severe difficulties) to rely on anything (or in fact anyone) but my intelligence. To do anything that I hadn't completely understood and thought through. Needless to say that I didn't do women much.

Intelligence isn't fit to guide us through most of life, intuition and feeling are far more important. Keeping your eyes open and concioussly perceiving the world around you is important.
