A Day To Remember, Bring Me The Horizon, We Came As Romans and Pierce The Veil at the Vogue!
(for all you non Vancouverites, the Vogue is a theater meant for plays and classic films NOT A HARDCORE SHOW. There is no floor space because the seats pretty much cover the entire floor, it's HORRIBLE for live metal music.) im not a big fan of pierce the veil of we came as romans so their sets didnt do much for me. after they played there was a huge wait for Bring Me The Horizon so Richard and i slowly tried to make our way into the middle of the 6X6ft floor space. Clearly there is no room for moshing, throwing down or circle pits but this guy came barreling through the crowd like he owned the place so richard grabbed the back of his neck and threw him and then the guy screamed "FUCK YOU" and PUNCHED ME IN THE FACE! he ran away right after so we couldn't find him. whatever, it sucked but i got over it. bmth came on and sucked ass. if you didnt know - ive been a die hard bmth fan for at least 4 years or at least up until their latest album came out. i fucking hate that album. its no where near as brutal as the others. it sucks. i was so disappointed when they played nothing but their new album. ohthey did play chelsea smile but they SUCKED. sorry, but im pretty sure they lost a lot of their old vancouver fans last night. so many people were so chapped. oh well, i still love old bmth and i will love it to the end.
NOW! ADTR WAS FUCKING INSANE! they played everything i wanted them to play. their set was at least an hour long plus an encore. they had smoke machines and confetti and balloons and free shirts and beach balls and they put on the best live show ive ever seen. i think i fucked up my voice because i was actually screaming my lungs out. my lungs hurt so bad
totally worth it though! for their encore they brought out their acoustic guitars and played if it means a lot to you and i cried. hah. I also took my top off at one point. best performance - ever. thank you adtr for being my favourite band and pulling through for me after bmth sucked so bad.
sorry that i have no photos but SLR cameras and huge crowds of screaming metal fans/13 year old girls in cramped spaces does not ever end well. not in my case anyway.
