I just wanted to let everyone read what i posted in response to Olivia's well thought out and well spoken journal entry about what's been going on lately and since this site has begun. so here it is:
i've been here for quite a bit of the drama... probably most of it to be honest. i've heard most of the rumors, accusations and bullshit. i've met and made friends with both models and members and have been around for some of their archiving as well. all of them had their reasons and usually the stories that have cropped up surrounding their reasons for leaving are nowhere near the truth of the matter. i've had bad things and good things happen because of SG. i've taken hiatuses due to some of them, but i always return. i've had friends get zotted who i may not have agreed with the reasoning behind it, but since it is not my call to make i have usually accepted the decision (or grumbled in private), consoled my friends and then let it go.
basically, what i'm saying is that no matter what has happened there is something about this place that i love. it's the people you meet, the friends you make and the places you get to go to because of that. no matter what i do or where i go i can always count on meeting a member of this site who is more than happy to help me out. they may not even know me, but they know i'm a member and that's good enough for them. this is why i am here, this is why i will stay here and no amount of bad vibes or bickering is going to make me want to leave.
you guys do an excellent job. you sustain unseen and unheard criticism, threats and the like. you could stop at any time, but you don't. it's not because you make billions of dollars and most of us know that. no, it's because you love what you do and you enjoy doing it. you love this site, you love the models and yes, even though sometimes we aren't the most agreeable people in the world, you love the members too and i thank you for that.
