woo! good news! first... i called dell and told them what happened... they tried to "assist" me in getting my computer up and running over the phone, but to no avail. so instead they sent a tech guy here with every possible part that was on warranty and that might have gotten damaged. he replaced my motherboard, powersource, memory, sound card and modem card... thank god for warranties. didn't cost me a penny.

then today the cable/internet guy showed up to replace the modem that had crapped out and also zapped my poor computer. he got everything back up and running and now i will never leave SG again... well, except for if i have to go to work or something.

so, to recap... serious costs to repair computer... averted. trouble with modem/internet connection... fixed. here i am. send me some love!
