ok, so far the party is still tentatively on for aug 25, 26 & @27th... i've had enough people say they might be able to make it that i'm going to try and go ahead with the plans. when you know for sure if you can or can't come send me a message and i'll and i'll give everyone the address so you can get here... however, if people start bailing on me i'll just reschedule and try again later. 
this past weekend i did nothing really special... did a few things around the cottage and went to my dad and sandy's house to have dinner with the step-family. i was concerned about moving here and having to deal with them all the time, but i don't seem to be having as much trouble with them as i had thought i would... which is good. course, eventually something will probably happen that will set someone off (most likely me... lol).
next weekend i "volunteered" to have the step-family out to my place for dinner. i figure most of them haven't seen my new place so having the dinner would be a good way to get them over to see it. i can't wait for someone to say something about how they think i should decorate the place... that'll be the thing that will set me off. they all have to have their noses in everyone's business all the time (well, the women do anyway... they are the town gossips... lol). the bonus of having the party here is that i don't have a grill... so as my housewarming gift the whole step-family (and mostly my dad i'm sure) are going to get me a really nice grill. which means i will have a really nice grill for when everyone comes out for the party.
in other news... i thought i might have a date for tonight, but it got canceled due to the fact that she needed to pack to go visit family in missouri tomorrow (how many people vote that that was just a line?) i'm not 100%... cuz i know she is going to missouri, but then again it sounds too much like 'i have to do laundry', or 'i'm washing my hair' for my taste... lol. whatever, not a big loss. it'll either get rescheduled or it won't.
i think that's pretty much it for me...
