great... so 6/6/6 is apparently not my lucky day... there are some problems with my loan to get the cottage... damn you people! 
they need proof that i will have a job when i get to NY... which i don't have... cuz i wasn't planning on looking for a job til i get to NY. so i asked them what else we could do... so right now they are running the loan as if the cottage would be my second home b/c i told them that i was planning on staying here in georgia until i can find a good job up that way. so, cross your fingers (i might need it). hopefully, i make enough money to cover the mortgage payments + my current rent here (i only pay 350) + all my other monthly bills like car payments and insurance... otherwise we might have trouble and there might be one severely pissed off C_K.
i do have one other option available if things don't go well, but it's a last ditch effort and i would rather not do it. however, at this point i'm totally in love with the damned cottage and once my mind is set on something it's really hard to keep me from achieveing whatever goal i might have my mind set on.
wish me luck, pray, sacrifice small animals... whatever it is you do to help improve someones luck PLEASE, by all means, do it now!
