just finished fixing my friends laptop... damn those best buy people. those geek squad fuckers don't know what they're doing at all do they?
apparently he had something pretty serious happen to his laptop so he took it to best buy and they wiped out his harddrive and then only installed windows and gave it back to him. they didn't bother to put back any of the drivers or his chipset. what a bunch or morons. apparently the chipset doesn't exist on any of the CD's he got with the laptop. so, i had to DL everything on my system (because without drivers his ethernet card didn't work). then install everything on his system. what a mess. right now i'm just tinkering with the thing. installing programs i think he might need and the like. it's pretty nice. i might think of getting one someday.
the bonus is he's gonna give me 50 bucks for fixing it. course, that's really cheap compared to what best buy or one of those places would have charged, but hey, what are friends for.
