Last night our St Bernard, Roxie, stopped putting weight on her front left paw. It looked swollen, but it didn't seem to hurt her when touched.
Went to the vet today, and the vet found a tender spot just below her wrist. She's getting x-rays done, and will most likely have a splint even if there is no fracture to take some of the pressure off her paw. She may have to wear an e-collar. That could be quite humorous (in a pathetic kind of way). They'll be calling me when she is good to come home (they wanted me to leave her to give them plenty of time to get a good x-ray in case she didn't want to sit still for them).
Also, the vet thought she could put on a bit of weight and recommended putting her on puppy food to really up those calories, so I picked up a bag of Science Diet puppy food on my way out. $40 for a big bag. As soon as I got to my car I realized I had a gift card that would have covered the food. Figures.
Oh well. I just want to take care of my (big) baby girl!

Thanks - she is doing A-ok. She is all bandaged up, but it's definitely not keeping her down!
