I tossed up whether to write this entry or be more upbeat. In the end, I decided I might as well put down what I feel because that is the whole point of the freedom of expression which this site espouses.

Having said that , the topic of mortality is not exactly what everyone wants to hear. It is impossible for you to appreciate until it happens to you. Although Cheryl gives the outward veneer of normality, beneath is a vast chasm of uncertainty and fear. Although there is now a 95% covery rate from breast cancer, there is the doubt that she is the 5%. Why is her treatment more severe than the other women? What is the significance ofgetting a disease in her mid 30's which normally only appears in women after the age of 55? How will it affect her life even if she lives on with only 1 breast and permanent vulnerability to lymphodemia of the right arm?

We all say you have to go some time and we see death in the hundreds and thousands every night on TV but we still think deep down that it is always something which happens to others and that somehow we will never die.

So I accept her tirades and outbursts. I endure her nagging and complaints. Because even at her worst, I cannot contemplate my life without her, which I very much understand would also be the death of me.

QOTW - Selected from the mad speech because I have always loved the symbolism of the storm which exists regardless of Lear and in ignorance of his commands to do what it would in any case.

"Blow winds; Crack your cheeks,
Blow you water spout and hurricanoes." King Lear

I like the idea and I'm in, just say when brother.
And thanks mate, yes it is good to be back in health biggrin

mmmm I have just read your j/entry, I am afraid I don't have much to offer as I have never been in your situation, other than to say Cheryl is a lucky girl to have you at her back and by her side, shit happens to people every day, tis the way it is, I just think that what counts is how we react to it. With the love that you have for Cheryl she has a better chance at winning the fight with the 'Spanish Dancer' and for that I bet she is grateful even if she doesn't always show it.
