About now the men are settling around campfires, too worked up to sleep. Around 2am, it will appear as if a comet is passing along the French lines as troops take up firebrands to greet the emperor moving to inspect the positions. At 5am the allies will begin stirring, moving slowly through the fog towards Davout's outnimbered right wing. At 10am Soult's corps will move up the slope and take the Pratzen Heights. By 11am the guards for both sides will clash with Murat and Bessieres sending off Constantine's fine gentlemen. By 1pm, all is over, the allies flee and the French rejoice.
You can put the map of Europe away. We shall not need it for another 10 years.
