I had a bit of a relapse today. I thought I was getting on with life - looking after Emily, paying bills, going back to work. Then for some unknown reason, I have been emotionally labile all day. The rational part of my mind condemns me for being self indulgent and the irrational part makes me feel guilty for not missing her more.

I am...

We had Cheryl's funeral today. It went off just as planned. Huge crowd spilling out the back of the church, the choir singing her favourites, no hitches. Thanks to Aaronsrod for his support also. Just wish Cheryl was here so she could tell me what she thought.

I was pretty bad for the first few days. But on Saturday night I found a box of...

My thoughts go out to you and your little one, as through her, the Sun will be reflected with glorious warmth.

unnamedcarter:
Sending you prayers of strength. Strength to endure this deepest of sorrows.

And prayers for your little one. To know that her mother's love looks over her and enfolds her always.

And sending prayers for Cheryl on her spirit journey.

Cheryl was admitted to palliative care at the Wesley today. She was going in for a regular chemo session but hte doctor said that she had deteriorated too much over the last 7 days to proceed. The palliative care doctor says Cheryl has 2-3 days if things progress as they have been to date or 7-10 days if she responds to a doubling of her...

Merry Christmas to all my loyal reader. I have spent the day constructing a scooter, a train set (with 2 extensions), a doll...

I have settled down a bit today so best to move on to a new entry. I feel not anger but chagrin when I depart from the philosophy of Stoicism which has worked for me so far. And I can't believe how anal I was to try to cry and spell check at the same time.

I am appreciating the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice...

Sorry I haven't been around much lately. Trials (as usual these days) with no. 9 for the year on Monday. I've cancelled New Zealand which was an emotional struggle but the fight decision in the long run, I hope.

Looking forward to more juvenile wish fulfillment with Medieval 2 on Thursday 16 November. smile

Private entry

Bit of a weird weekend. Great team bonding for my crew at the firm's quiz night followed by a very down Saturday & Sunday. Most of the time I am either thinking in the now with Cheryl or thinking how to cope looking after Emily when she is gone but I spent most of the weekend thinking how empty it will be without...

Noosa was good. Except for almost falling asleep at the wheel driving up because I had been up since 5am, taken Emily to swimming lessons at 11am and then a birthday party at 1pm before heading off at 4pm. I could feel a few times losing concentration and then just a millisecond blackout near the Ettomogah Pub. Fortunately (and obviously), no harm done - we...

Good week. Settled 2 trials in 2 days. And new work coming in faster than I can dish it out to the juniors. Lots of money, lots of tired.

Forgot to post for the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Saalfeld and I will be up in Noosa for the 200th anniversary of Jena & Auerstadt on Saturday - the latter being very big for...

Fanny, Rys, India & Flux. What a fantastic week.

Busy (as usual for this year) with trials. 2 more next week and another 3 before the end of the year, including 1 on Christmas Eve.

Cheryl's blood works are holding up although the cancer enzyme markers are not down as much as we hoped. I suggested a big party for her 39th...
