How did the cat shearing turn out? One of the Maine Coons at Isis Oasis went through a similar experience after her hair matted into dredlocks, poor thing.
When Isis gets a bath, she rounds her lips and howls like a demon, writhing around like something out of the exorcist. But at least she's got short hair.

That's so cool that you match your cat! Vegetable dye is the way to go. Isis loves wearing necklaces so she can be like her mommy. I bought little Circe a lion suit for her birthday since she always tries to make people think she's a bigger cat, but she wasn't having it.
