last night some friends and i went to see an associate spin lounge and exotica at some place called the congo room i believe. nice enough place, though the bartender couldn't make a proper mojito to save his life. very small room and to make matters worse the crowded the room up with wall to wall tables. when will the east bay ever learn you need a little room to kick the heels about a bit if your going to have any real fun. well at least they provided us with a singing ukulele player. there's something so cheerful about a ukulele. after this ultimitly proved dissapointing we made the unfortunate descison of heading to the ruby room. we keep trying to give this place a chance simply because we like most of the staff as well most of the dj's and they have a small dance floor. i swear trying to get people to dance in the east bay is like trying to cold call people and talk them into enemas. as some point i want to be able to dance in the east bay without having to go to the white horse and listen to whatever flavor of techno their spinning that particular evening.
so if anyone's knows of a place with good ass shaking on this side of the bay sing out and give our hero the good news. worst comes to worst i guess i can just get in the car and head over to that great big shining oz.
