So, I got the stuff to make my pie. My birthday falls right around thanksgiving every year and when I was little I used to ask my grandma to make me an apple pie intead of a cake. She makes the best pies, and she uses apples that my grandpa grows in the backyard. I can tell she's getting older though, all of her cooking (which is normall wonderful) is a little off. It's sad when things I consider tradition start to change. When I was even littler, maybe one and two years old my mom would bake me these elaborate cakes. I'm talking a shaped cake pan and little dots of frosting to color the whole thing in. The best one ever was a mickey mouse cake. I wish I had a scanner so I could put some of those pics up.
