I'm back from Dallas and retail therapy
My Christmas shopping, I am happy to report is 99% DONE! I KICK ASS!
Two majors highlights from the weekend
1. DSW Shoe Warehouse. I went on a huge DSW shoe shopping spree when I left DC over 4 months ago. Much to my dismay there is no DSW in Little Rock. Stepping into the store in Dallas and being caressed by the smell of shoe leather felt so good! Happiness is shoe shopping.
2. In Dallas, jeans are required attire. Jeans can be dressed down, or turned into formal evening wear. I saw women wearing jeans with every type of stiletto; shoes, mules, boots. And on top; sequined tops, strapless tops, fur stoles, diamonds. I've never seen anything like it. I've never thought of jeans as such a versatile item of clothing.
One other quick note, 90% of the women are blonde. I've never seen so many blonde women, all shades, in one place. I noticed this not only at dinner Saturday night, but at the mall as well. Texas women definitely have a "look" to them.
I'm a long way from the East Coast...
