I have been a victim of FRAUD!
I got up this morning after going to bed around 11:30 ish (was downstairs with the neighbours) started my day off on the right foot. Did some cleaning, emptied the dishwasher, baked muffins wearing my new apron, did some ironing. Then the phone rings and my my world is flipped upside down.
It's the fraud department from my bank saying they've noticed some unusual transactions on my debit card last night. I said..uh the last transaction I did was at the grocery store around 6 after work. Well apparently some SOB had a copy of my card (my debit card is still sitting in my wallet as I write this) and my PIN number and withdrew 1000$ from my chequing acount at 3am last night downtown!
First off, I never withdraw such huge amounts at once, rarely if never at 3am in the morining, and even less downtown. Fucking bloody hell! I smashed my fave pen down on the counter and busted it into pieces, and stomped around my flat. So now my chequing account is frozen till monday where I'll have to go to the bank and open an investigation...
The fraud guy said that there were 8 other people all in Laval (where I live) who had similar cases happen to them last night, so it's probably some place I paid with my debit card that saw my PIN (which blows my mind cuz im very careful) and somehow copied my card.
So this is what he told me, and this is what im telling you all so it doesn't happen to you: Whenever you can, pay in CASH! Use your debit card as little as possible, you'll avoid charges and shitty situations like this.

I 've been there happed to me 6 months ago it only took a few days to get the bank to put the money back in my account and get me alll new cards and pins
