I'm still mortified when I hear cover versions of "Take Another Little Piece of My Heart" - especially the ones that are all sweetened up. (Faith Hill, I'm scowling in your direction.) I don't think anybody else could bring to that song, or possibly to anything in her catalogue, what Janis did.

I remember working on an album once that was for a 12-year old french-canadian girl. She was doing a bunch of covers, and the album actually sold out of a couple of pressings. Everybody kept praising her voice, but I remember hearing the tracks for the first time and thinking "that girl needs to have her heart broken". It was in no way a shot at her vocals... but there is a maturity and experience that is required to really transcend any material to be a true storyteller, and to really connect and communicate with an audience. I can think of no finer example of just what was missing in that little girl's vocals than Janis.

Thanks for the good words... and don't worry about life or about yourself. Everyone has a good and a bad side at the same time. But what makes someone special, is the balance between the two ! Let the time do it's work, it will bring you on the right road ;O)

Please, don't give up on men yet bCause you know what, one day or another, you will find someone who is all into the piece of crap that you say you are, as much as the the nice and beutifull person that you must be most of the time anyway !! When in love, the worst "piece of crap" looks like the most beautifull art piece of the world !
