I feel sticky and barfy and chilled. Not so nice.

Today I was home alone, and was feeling a little naughty, so i locked my bedroom door, reminding myself to unlock the bastard as soon as I open it because there's no key. Thus far I have locked myself out numerous times, but have always been able to crawl back in through my window. So I get up to go take a shower, taking my, uh, stuff with me. Can you see what's coming?
That's right. locked out of my room, with no one home, in nothing but a towel, obscene object in hand...my thought process went something like this:
*Try to turn knob*
"Oh my god. Dammit."
*Looks down at towel*
"Oh, my god..."
*Looks at hand*
OH, MY GOD..."
*Thinks about locked widow*
"OH...my gaaaaad....."
*Thinks about employers walking in with their two small imps from a fun family holiday at the seashore*
"Ohhhh my GODDD..."

The next hour was spent cursing my own self, trying to unlock the door with screwdrivers, paperclips, my forehead and shoulder. Thankfully the only friend who's # I could remember that I was not totally embarrased to call reminded me of the trusty ol' butterknife trick. Thank. God.

Being naked is the best. Being naked because you don't have a choice is the WORST. The funny thing is, when I got in, I put some clothes on to go to the kitchen to return the knife. And I locked myself out again. Shit.

I went to the aquarium today with the expectation of getting a new shirt. I got one that was a size bigger than the one I have that actually fits but i hate nevertheless...and it was too small. It looked like it was painted on. Ok when we're playing scientist stripper in the bedroom, not so nice for 4th of July Family Days at the Aquarium. If it had gotten slightly cooler i might've taken out an eye. Since I didn't bring my other shirt with me, I had to go home. frown Last week I forgot my nametag. I'm a sucky volunteer.
Happily I got to sit and watch the two-spotted octopus for 45 minutes. I watched him play. Yes, play. He'd use his little suckersto haul himself up the glass to the corner of his tank and would then push himself off and float to the bottom of the tank, 8 arms spread out in suckery floaty glory. He did this pretty much the entire time. A few times he'd jet himself across the tank, then he'd start walking up the glass again. It was very amusing. The cool thing about octopi and cuttlefish and squid is, their eyes are more complex than ours. You can watch him watching you. smile

He's totally checking me out. Awww. smile

I also bought the Dover School Marine Biology Coloring Book today which I've been lusting after for quite some time. Yay.

So...the tour...the Route Of All Evil Tour this fall....is now a looming reality. My friends bosses are 100% behind her efforts to go, as are mine...so...now I'm fucking excited. With those guys, you just never fucking know...
I've got to get a scanner so I can get some pics from the last tour. love

Lesson learned over and over: If ever given the chance....never, ever, EVER count on a rockstar. If you can remember that, you'll never be disappointed. They love to surprise.

And kudos to me, I already saved $100. Only...like....$1900 more to go. (Bare bones I need $1000...but that's without budgeting for necessities like coffee, trinkets, emergency contraception or busted car money.) I'm convinced a good roadtrip will always cost at least twice what you expect it to. whatever The last one cost about $8000. That was three months long, and even so, we still slept in the car, ate from the dollar menus, stopped at truckstops and gas station bathrooms for showers, and were generally rank and miserable 45% of the time. But hot damn it was fun. love
alpo:
I'm minimizing, not going bye-bye completely. Not yet, at least.

Cephalopods are hot. love

yeah, that octupus is totally giving you the... uh, suction cups, i guess. wink
That's a crazy story about locking yourself out. Could have been much worse, I suppose. There could have been lots of people around. tongue
