SO! What have I been doing so far? Much too much to explain. So here's a quick partial pictorial:
The lovely Mt. Shasta:
This sign will never ever cease to amuse me, ever:
In Sacramento with my friend's awesome new bird. I have never considered mysel a bird person but I would gladly live with Mischa:
Hot boys in a bar. Actually my friend on the left is such a great friend indeed that he and his girlfriend got the one on the left to come visit for my arrival. He was their roommate in SD and I had a big ol' crush on him and they knew I missed him. Awww. But it's ok, cause now I don't have a crush on him anymore so our time was all kickback and chill. We all went out in downtown Visalia and got uber-wasted. Flasks are such a brilliant invention.
And today, we went to the Endangered Cat Haven in the foothills and saw these gorgeous cat plus tigers, snow leopards, a black leopard, Caracals, Clouded leopards, and a bobcat. SO fun! And I learned that there is no such thing as a black panther. The only kind of panther is the Florida Panther, also called cougar and mountain lion, among about 37 other things. The black leopard is actually a regualr leopard with the recessive gene that makes it black. Like the opposite of an albino. They are not their own species as I thought they were. Also Siberian Tigers are not called so anymore, they are now called Muir tigers. I <3 learning new stuff.
I have decided to skip L.A. and stay in Visalia til tomorrow morning. My friends are taking me to a benefit show/street fair for this kid in the community. He grew up here and is an excellent musician who got in a car wreck. He made it out alive, but his hospital bills are horrendous and so the benefit is to help him pay them off. How nice is that? There's an aspect of small-town living to appreciate.
Righty-O, more news as I get settled. This trip has been a blast!
