I have splintery woes.

A couple of days ago I was putting a load of laundry into the machine and got a stab of pain in my foot. Small splinter, but it went deep and on such a part of my heel as to be fucking difficult to get it out. My housemates tried, they couldnt get it out either. Oh well.

But now, a couple of days later, i think its infected and it fucking hurts to walk.I just hope it clears up enough in time for work later in the week since standing for eight hours with an infected foot is not going to be fun.

In other news, my mum and my aunt came to visit me in Oxford yesterday. Not seen the aunt in years (big complicated family history, my mums side of the family emigrated to australia during the seventies) and it was great to wander around and shoot the shit with her again.

There was a small french market on gloucester green, with all manner of cool stuff. There were a few stalls with one of those massive three-foot circular hot plates cooking various stuff, and I got me a plate of some interesting potato/onion/pepper combination. One thing was not all good, though.

Of all the things to play to entice/entertain people, for the love of fuck dont make it french techno rap. Made my ears bleed.
