So I teach math at a fashion school (yeas chew that over for a minute to let it sink in). Anyhoo one of my bosses also manages Macy's, and he wants me to moonlight there as an evening supervisor. Bwaaaaah! tongue OK #1. I know jack shit about retail clothing and #2. Supervisor! Bwaaaaaah! I think I'm going to do it though, out of freakish curiousity....

Shit, it took me a minute to figure out what that little ballon icon thingie was. So you say it's your birthday!. . . duh duh duh nuh nuh nuh nuh! What can I say except to quote another song: It's ge-tting be-tter all the ti-i-ime. I feel like I've had four lifetimes of adventures, and the end seems . . . well . ....

happy belated birthday.

and yes, stupid jokes do rule, but all of mine are brilliant:

SO, bacon and eggs walk into a bar. The bartenders says:

Sorry, we don't serve breakfast.

ANTM= America's Next Top Model. QUALITY REALITY TELEVISION. Kidding. But addicted.

So I am spying on your other comments and I am glad that bbkaro is saying 29 is a good one, cuz 28 hasn't been all that scintillating. If you believe in all that astrological bullshit, I think 29 has to do with the Return To Saturn, in which you decide to do very big things, like change careers, or buy houses, or start using heroin.

So this cardboard muscleman (previous entry) is taking forever. I could have been done by now, but I do everything the hard way. I decided to PAINT his jeans and muscles onto him, but there's only one teensey weensey problem with that: I never learned how to paint.shocked Painting is one of the few artforms I've shied away from for all these years. The word...

Jolie Holland is finally performing in SF again! She'll be here on May 13th. If you like raw hillbillie blues, you'll love Jolie.

I'd like to have it on record that I'm an equal opportunity guy-in-shiny-suit-to-come-save-me kind of gal. Don't you worry your pretty little head.

But I have seen the black and red knights (what movie was that anyway) and they really creeped me out.

To close, if you have an opening to come rescue me, come in whatever kind of armor you want. skull

I don't know this Jolie lady, but speaking of hillbilly (kinda), I was saddened to learn that tickets for Allison Kraus are $45. That's way too rich for my blood. Stupid ticket seller people. tongue

Drained, but not in the good vampire way was a good way to describe the after swimming thing. Let's just say that feeling would make me second guess going out with a razor to the wrists.

Never heard of Jolie Holland, but hillbillie blues sounds like something that's worth checking out!

Life is vague. It's a topography of feelings and ideas, filled with hills and plains of indescribable subtlety. We can hold a candle up to the detail, to become more aware of what we're going through, but we often forget to light our candles. Our fascination is blown out by critics carrying thousand-watt bulbs, denying a softer contrast; we are taught in a harsh light...

I half meant the hurting kids comment. Mostly, it's a mantra we say at work to calm down, "At least I'm not making them dumber."

I guess I hope not.

When it comes to grading and gradebooks, I've come to realize that I need to have the actual paper in front of me. For some reason, any other way jumbles my brain. shocked
sfdeep:
haha, i just read my comment above and realized i meant to say, "muscle relaxantrs aren't as fun as you would think they would be." in addition, they weren't very effective either. despite that, my back is just about back to normal.

i DJ and produce dance music. i was curious about what you made because my wife, naiad, designs and makes jewelry, mainly women's accesories, i.e. rings, necklaces, etc. she works a lot in silver.

what do you teach?

My carpenter hands are giddy. Today they crave cardboard instead of wood, a kitchen instead of a workshop. They hungrily munch away with an X-Acto knife until they are satisfied, or until my stomach starts growling. But a fork and a spoon are no substitute for a cutting tool. A feast of work is in progress.

Today the jewelry project is on hold, because I...

Shee-it! My first thought is I wish I had gone to that show! (although the Bottom of the Hill show in December was good too...) More thoughts forthcoming. I just poured my coffee.
valexis:
so, you teach art? or what?

my projects always have something to do with geography, so i can't say how you can work in bulging pecs.

how was the dancing? biggrin

First entry!

The rain is making grassy nooks look like perfect little forests. Each water drop sitting on a leaf makes me wish I were an insect. It's a good thing I don't have a digital camera; my hard drive would be full of wet weeds. I'm glad that the rain sounds lame on recordings too, so you have to wait for the real thing....
