i found out this am that my grandpa passed away last night, the guy was 93 yrs old, and he lived a long full life, RIP.
the thing is i wasn't close to him, but he was my last living grandparent. he was my dad's father, and i do feel a sense of sadness and hurt emotionally coming from my dad onto me. i did cry a bit about it this morning, thinking about what it must feel like to lose your dad, and also remembering how it felt when my grandma died years ago.
i haven't been around much death in my life, i am quite lucky. but in this case the guy lived a long life and ended up not to suffer. so this in itself brings a level of peace.
