Blog Homework: 10 Facts About Me!! by Cassius_graye

Hi everybody!!

I know this blog homework is not a recent assignment, but it’s always been one of my favorites to read as I love learning new things about folks.

Since there’s more than 1700 of you following me now (wait, what?!), I figure this would be a fun, easy way for you to learn more about me!

And as always, thanks to @rambo @missy and @lyxzen for such a great topic to encourage us sharing different aspects of our selves.

1. I’m the oldest of four. People are often surprised at my ease of interacting with kids of all ages. Those of you that are an only child are beyond my scope of understanding, haha. The photo below is of me using FaceTime with two of my siblings and my silly father (more on that later).

2. My musical instrument of choice is the violin. For real. Nothing in the world like a well-rosined bow. My fingers would probably fall off if I tried anything too complex these days, but I love it!

3. While I often hate most of the politics/history/culture that springs forth from the south, I can’t imagine calling any other place home. Living above the Mason-Dixon line made me appreciate it more and also simultaneously encouraged me to not settle there.

4. I have my B.A. in English with a minor in Gender Studies. Not once did I ever switch my major or doubt what I was doing in the name of a “successful career”. I 100% studied what I wanted. I might go back for my Master’s…maybe.

5. Like many of you, I enjoy going to live music events. My music festival of choice for the past several years has been Wakarusa which takes place on Mulberry Mountain in NW Arkansas. Unfortunately, it was cancelled this year. :(

6. I love change and new beginnings. It makes a lot of people uneasy but I always feel oddly calm in those settings. Definitely something exciting about a fresh start in a strange land!!

7. Quitting cigarettes is the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. Not gonna preach at you, just know the other side ain’t half bad. Oh, and I don’t bite my fingernails anymore. Anything is possible, you can do it!!

8. I’m an animal lover. Dogs, cats, snakes, birds, whatever. Bring it on.

9. Favorite film facts: My top three favorite foreign films are “Run Lola Run”, “Breathless” and “Maria, Full of Grace”. Favorite of all-time? “The Big Lebowski”. I could put a lot more here but that’s for another blog.

10. My dad is one of my best friends. Like, he took me to Vegas for my 21st birthday. He’s the funniest, hardest workin’ fella around. He’s the genetic source of my sarcastic sass. :)
