Today at work, a customer came in, got drunk, and started debating politics with me and my co-workers. One of those newly 21 year olds. You know the type. Just to give you a good overall view of what was going on: all my co-workers are voting for Bush, I am not. The drunkard is voting for Kerry. The amateur debate was going alright at first. Drunk guy bad talked Bush and, although I could tell he was not very up-to-date on his politics, he made a couple of good points. Then he started talking about the war and 9/11. One of the subjects being talked about today that I am very passionate about. BUT he had all the information fucked up. You could tell this kid was making shit up as he went. He actually told us that if Gore would have been elected, 9/11 wouldn't have ever happened. AND that Clinton was the best President we had in our lifetime. I actually had a few things to tell this guy in DEFENSE of Bush. If you knew me at all... you would know how out of character that is for me. It was terrible. I reflected after he left and realized that I was happy that he was a Kerry supporter yet very very VERY scared at the same time. It made me question whether it is right for people to vote even if they have no idea about the issues and the facts.

Any man, in the right situation, is capable of murder. But not any man is capable of being a good camper. So, murder and camping are not as similar as you might think.

Oh. I also hate it when people ask me who I'm voting for and practically yell at me when I answer "Kerry". They ask why. I tell them because I don't like how Bush is very religious oriented and seems to push that on the rest of America. One person told me, "Well, Kerry goes to church too." Yes. I don't care whether the candidates go to church or not. I just don't want them to back laws simply because their religion believes it's immoral to do some things. Also. I agree with more democrat ideals opposed to republican. I've always been that way. Has it suddenly become wrong to vote based on the platform rather than my opinion on the war?

If you ever drop your keys into a river of molten lava, let'em go, because, man, they're gone.

Tomorrow I'm going to Columbus to Bento and hanging out with some SG's and members. I'll finally get to meet NicoleLee after talking to her for awhile. It should be alot of fun.

Sorry that this is a very political based journal entry. I didn't mean for it to happen... it just did. Well. Just remember. Republicans vote on Wednesday. I heard it on the news or something. It's really true. Really. Trust me. smile
