Sitting in the bathroom. The only place in the whole apartment that has a lock. Lock herself inside. Isolated. Slone. Away from everyone. Everything. Everyone? Who? She has no friends here. No one to tame her. No one to tame.
"How did it come to this?" Her voice echoes in the one place she calls her own. Naked. On the floor. Cold. Everything cold. Especially with the air conditioning set so high. Or is it set so low? Not surprising that the knife she's holding feels like it's below room temperature. The blood gets colder as it flows to the tile. White walls. White tiles. White counter. White rugs. White curtains. Red pool. Is that a smile? Yes. She smiles because it feels so good. The pain reminds her that she is in fact still alive.
"Is it pain when it brings this much joy?"
She sits and ponders this. Yes, it is still pain.
