So yeah. Work stuff first.

We must work at least 8 weekend hours a week to get our $8.00 of pay. Saturday I go in to work and our supervisor, who used to be a pastor and tells the LAMEST jokes possible, tells us that they ran out of the usual records for us to call on but luckily they found something last minute. A Christian file where we call random homes to ask for funding to overturn roe vs. wade. They said it was only for partial-birth abortians (which are hardly legal anyways) but in the scripting that was provided it specifically said "ban abortian altogether". At first our supervisor was nice about it. He said we didn't have to call on anything we were against. Just raise your hand, he said, and we'll make a note that you don't want to call on this. Half the room raised their hands. "You DO understand that this is partial-birth abortian...?" And then he goes on to describe what that entails. Yes, we fucking understand. Do YOU understand that by banning partial-birth abortian (which I, myself, am not a big fan of by the way) that will get them one step closer to banning abortian altogether? Do YOU understand how much the pro-choice movement has helped this country with providing proper birth control and how much pro-life wants to ignore that aspect altogether? Do YOU understand that by helping them raise money for this I will not be able to sleep at night?

I walked out. I cannot be persuded to stay by telling me that if I leave I will make $6.00 an hour that week instead of $8.00. I do not need the money THAT badly. What kills me inside is some of the people there do need the money that badly. Raising a family on one income will do that to a person. I watched a woman ball her eyes out because she had to call on that program but firmly supported the pro-choice movement. That's what kills me.

Please stop passing laws because your religion deems it wrong. Not all of us believe that way. Pass laws because they're good for the country. You know how many women will be admitted to the emergency room with ruptured uterii (huh? spell check...) because the shoved coat hangers up their vaginas if roe v wade is overturned? How about "back alley" abortians by people who don't know what the fuck they're doing? Or even better, newborns left in garbage cans and dumpsters?

Fuck you president Bush and your conservative, mind-controlled asshats.

Okay. Second. Comfest.

I went to Columbus Saturday to a community festival called Comfest. Along with my friend Butt and Abbey and her boyfriend Aaron. My friends' band (Two Cow Garage) played and, as always, they were amazing. After they were done we got something to eat and then headed out to the bassist's house. Hung out there. Then came home. I had a very nice time.

Let me ask you a question. If you are in a spaceship that is traveling at the speed of light, and you turn on the headlights, does anything happen?

It's a really pretty name, no doubt. I have a friend named Danae so that's where I got it, and she's pretty awesome.

Please tell me the above is a joke and they don't have sweatshop call centers phoning random people up to harass them for anti-abortion campaigns. Jeeezus...you'd think God could sort out the propaganda himself.
