Had a long conversation with my mom this morning regarding the hurricane disaster. I'm none-too-pleased either, either with federal or state governments. 5 days to send in the Guard is pathetic, especially when there are quite a few who could have just driven down on the interstate system in a matter of hours, commandeering pallets of drinking water and food at groceries along the way.

Man, if I even get started on the situation in New Orleans, I'll go on for hours, so I'll head off that rant before it blossoms. Although it is nice that at least 300 soldiers in Iraq are being recalled to help out with the situation. Imagine what could have happened if they had never gone over there to be absent in the first place....
