I saw a grown man cry today.

The victim, she was abducted from an unknown location at two AM last wednesday, from a neighborhood(?) near to my office building.... her attacker(s) raped her, then drove their vehicle through our parking lot, as a shortcut to a main street.

Our security cameras caught their license plate, which we gave to the police, when they contacted us after the victim reported it.

She called to thank us.

as if we did anything.


My boss, took the phone call, and as I heard his voice crack....I seated myself silently in the corner....not sure if I should tiptoe out of the room, or continue to watch and let my skin crawl.....


I did leave, but came back a few moments later, to see him with his head in his hands.

His face was red and he was balling up his fists to hide tears.

"I can't imagine.....how she felt...and how she feels right now....I don't even know her....but I swear to god... I would kill him."


I told him he was a good man.


Sometimes we get so caught up in our own stupid lives we forget what kind of world we live in.
