So I put up a picture of me, but I chose one from close to ten years ago (9 and change, I think), and where I was made-up, well-lit, and posed. So I dealt with the intimidation factor by running like a bunny, obviously. To be fair, I don't have a lot of pics without someone else in them. I do have my eye on a pic my g/f and I made a couple years ago, in costume as saloon girls, but I have to scan it and then crop her out of it.
Still, I choose a very flattering picture, rather than one more typical of me, and that's a bit disappointing, really. What I find revealing is how the site itself effected my choice. I've been on other sites with porn on them---I've written stories on some of them, even---and I've been on sites where men rail against women in general and the intrusion of them on their site in particular (gaming sites especially), but none of them ever effected me on such a low level---I generally do not care how I appear in those places.
But on SG, where there are women **I** find attractive and intriguing, I drove myself to distraction for two days over a photo. Sigh....being human sucks...
