I decided to listen to something different yesterday. I had heard of this band before, and I have 3 albums, but never gave them a listen. Who is this, you may be wondering? It is Rilo Kiley.
My thoughts on this band at the moment are that they are amazing. And I can't believe it took me this long to listen to them. They seem to say a lot of things that I want to say, but it a much more eloquent way.
I always feel like I want to write songs, or poems, or just anything, about how I am feeling. But then I end up listening to music and someone else's lyrics seem to say it much better. Or if I listen to the songs first, and then try to write, I find myself accidentally writing something too similar to what I just listened to.
Well I'd write more, but I should get back to my reading. I re-reading The Catcher in the Rye. I guess it's my way to pay my respects to the man who wrote such an amazing book.
