Maybe try using a shitty/quirky camera, like a Holga. That way you won't have the stress of living up to any unrealistic ideals, and you're guaranteed to end up with something beautifully analog and dirty. SAIT has a low tech photography class that would be a lot of fun, I think. Then once you're relaxed again, you can thinking of trying out some pristine shots.
